Workshops are open to all students and teachers. Regardless of your background in yoga, our liberal arts approach and interdisciplinary program is best in this format so that teachers-in-training can experience various yoga styles and traditions.
All workshops are $225 for the entire workshop or $60 per session plus PayPal fees. For IIYS Teachers, IIYS Teachers-In-Training and college students with a valid college ID, all workshops are $199 or $55 per session. College students must register here via PayPal and provide current ID at the door.Refunds are not available less than 30 days to the workshop. Registrations are processed on a first-come-first-serve basis and can be completed online via PayPal or in person at the studio. Onsite registration is limited and can be processed via credit card and cash. The sessions for each workshop are subject to change or even be cancelled completely by the incoming faculty member, so please read each faculty's syllabus carefully. If the incoming teacher cancels the workshop, all registrations fees will be reimbursed via PayPal. Lodging arrangements are held specifically for our participants. For most teachers, the workshop schedule is as follows, and runs between 10-12 teacher contact hours as follows:
Friday: 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm (varies per teacher)
Saturday: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Saturday: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm (varies per teacher)
Sunday: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PLEASE NOTE DAVID WILLIAMS SCHEDULE WHICH MEETS AN ADDITIONAL DAY, ON THURSDAY.
For teachers desiring teacher training continuing education credit, you must apply and enroll as an IIYS student. To receive to additional credit hours (up to 20 for each module) you must complete homework assigned before and after each weekend workshop and turn in via email within two weeks of each module to the Director of Teacher Training. September 26-29, 2013 Renee DeTar
By invitation only, yoga retreat with Renee in Jamesport, Missouri @ Jamesport Yoga Studio. Lots of yoga and cycling in the beautiful hills of Missouri. Fee for workshop includes yoga twice per day, cycling (if desired) in the rollings hills nearby, shopping excursion time for Christmas, food and lodging during Heritage Days in Jamesport, Missouri.
David has been practicing Ashtanga daily, without interruption, since 1971.
In 1972, David met K. P. Manju, the son of K. Pattabhi Jois, and saw him
demonstrate the Ashtanga Yoga Primary series. This was at Dr. Swami
Gitananda's Ananda Ashram in Pondicherry, South India, where David
received his 6-month Yoga teachers training course certification. In
1973, David began learning Ashtanga Yoga from K. Pattabhi Jois at his
home in Mysore, India, and became the first non-Indian to be taught the
complete Ashtanga Yoga system of asanas and pranayama directly from
Jois. In 1974, David became one of the first non-Indians to be certified
to teach the Ashtanga Yoga asanas and one of the very few people ever
certified by Jois to teach the Ashtanga Yoga pranayama.

Seane Corn is an internationally renowned Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher and spiritual activist. Her teachings are about using vinyasa flow yoga as a tool for self-empowerment and actualization, through balancing the realms of consciousness. Featured in commercials, magazines, Oprah.com and named the “National Yoga Ambassador” for YouthAIDS in 2005, Seane now utilizes her national platform to bring awareness to global humanitarian issues. Since 2007, she has been training leaders of activism through her co-founded organization Off the Mat, Into the World®. Seane has spent time in India, Cambodia, Haiti and Africa working with communities in need- teaching yoga, providing support for child labor and educating people about HIV/AIDS prevention. Seane is also co-founder of the Seva Challenge Humanitarian Tours, encouraging everyday people and yoga teachers to get involved in fund and awareness raising efforts across the globe. Her 5 self-authored dvds and cd set are available through Gaiam, Yoga Journal and Sounds True.

Ricky Tran, BBA, E-RYT, CBA, founder of the Breakfast Yoga Club and Krama Yoga Center in Dallas, TX is widely recognized as an inspirational leader and accomplished yoga master. His lectures and workshops on external and internal yoga covers many aspects of yoga with illuminating perspectives on all levels of postures, breath, mind, philosophy, and yogic lifestyle. His inspirational teachings of Sanskrit and the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali are easily digested by the Western mind. His rich personal experiences offers expert guidance on healing and transformation through a consistent practice and the transcendental stages of meditation that leads to profound insight, liberation, and enlightenment.
Ricky has taught thousands of people in the U.S and is an experienced registered yoga teacher at Yoga Alliance. He offers RYT-200 teacher training certification through Krama Yoga Center and is one of less than 108 in the world certified to teach Vinyasa Krama by Srivatsa Ramaswami, the Hatha Yoga system of T Krishnamacharya – the roots of many of today’s yoga systems. He also practices and teaches Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga of K Pattabhi Jois as learned from David Williams and other wonderful teachers.
Ricky earned a BBA in Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management and Real Estate from the University of North Texas. He continues to teach at Kripalu, the largest and most established retreat center for yoga, health, and holistic living in North America and at the annual Texas Yoga Conferences. He is a founding partner at OneYogaUSA and he is visiting yoga faculty at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He continues lead yoga trainings and retreats throughout the United States and is on a life mission to make a positive difference through yoga.
For more than 15 years, Tiffany Cruikshank
has taught yoga throughout North America, empowering her students to transform
their lives through mindfulness and dedication.Her classes and workshops are full of humor, heart and hard
work. In addition to teaching yoga classes, retreats and workshops
internationally, Tiffany is based in New York City, runs her own teacher training programs, and will be returning to the Midwest for the fourth time! We are so excited about her return to the Midwest! She previously was the Acupuncturist for Nike World Headquarters in
Portland, Oregon, runs her own 200 and 500 hour yoga teacher trainings, and has
been featured in video and ads for Nike and Lululemon. She is known for her
inversions, light-heartedness and depth as well as her attention to the mental
practice that ultimately enhances the potency of this practice in our lives.

Ray Long, MD FRSCS is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and the founder of Bandha Yoga. Ray graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School with post-graduate training at Cornell University, McGill University, the University of Monstreal and Florida Orthopedic Institute. He has studied yoga for over twenty years, training extensively with BKS Iyengar and other leading yoga masters.
